Dow's nearly 50-point climb highlighted by gains in UnitedHealth, Johnson & Johnson shares

Behind positive momentum for shares of UnitedHealth and Johnson & Johnson, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Wednesday afternoon. Shares of UnitedHealth UNH, +2.26% and Johnson & Johnson JNJ, +2.05% have contributed around one third of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, -0.04% is trading 45 points higher (0.2%). UnitedHealth’s shares are up $11.28 (2.4%) while those of Johnson & Johnson are up $3.54 (2.1%), combining for a roughly 98-point bump for the Dow. Procter & Gamble PG, +1.76%, Merck MRK, +1.70%, and McDonald’s MCD, +1.59% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.59-point swing.
