2022 MLB trade deadline: Rumors, live updates with eyes on Juan Soto, Willson Contreras, others

view original post

Major League Baseball’s trade deadline day is here. The deadline is set for 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday evening, and after that point, teams will no longer be able to make deals to bolster their rosters for the stretch run. Juan Soto remains the man of the hour, and the Nationals superstar is being pursued by the Cardinals, Padres and Dodgers. The biggest names traded thus far this deadline have been Josh Hader (Brewers to Padres), Luis Castillo (Reds to Mariners) and Frankie Montas (A’s to Yankees).

Will Soto be traded by 6 p.m.? It’s the biggest question of the day, but far from the only one. Will the Cubs move on from Willson Contreras and Ian Happ? Will the Red Sox and Giants sell off key contributors? Will another surprising name (like Hader) get moved? We’ll find out in the next 10 hours.

CBS Sports will be providing live updates and analysis on all the latest rumors and trades between now and the sounding of the trade deadline buzzer. Follow along below.
