Stock market holidays in August: BSE & NSE to remain shut on these three days

New Delhi: Indian stock markets are slated to remain closed on three days in the month of August (9th, 15th and 31st) due to various occasions.

On August 9 (Tuesday), stock markets will remain closed on the account of Muharram, whereas there will be no trading on August 15 (Monday) as India will celebrate its 76th Independence Day.

Similarly, trading will remain suspended on BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on August 31 (Wednesday) for the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

According to the list of stock market holidays 2022, which is available on the official BSE website – – there will be no action in Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment on these three days in August 2022.

However, the commodity market will observe holidays only during the morning session, that is from 9.00 hours to 17.00 hours on August 9 and 31. Trading will resume during the evening session on these two days.

On the other hand, the commodity segment will remain shut for both sessions on August 15. After 31st August 2022, the next stock market holiday will fall on October 5 on the account of Dussehra. There is no market holiday in September.
